Ankara
Situated in the northwestern part of Turkey, Ankara is the capital and the second largest city in the country. The city's habitation history can be traced back to the Stone Age. Ankara became part of the Roman Empire in 25 BCE. Byzantine remnants such as citadel and a cemetery and the Column of Julian and the Temple of Roma and Augustus of the Roman era are still found in the city.
