Kyoto

The spiritual heart and the former imperial capital of Japan, Kyoto is the capital city of Kyoto Prefecture in the Kansai region of country’s Honshu island. The city has witnessed several transformations over the centuries but what has lasted and stood the test of time are the many temples, shrines and other historically important structures. It was because of this virtue, the city was erased from the list of cities to be destroyed with atomic bombs during World War II.
Apart from experiencing spiritual bliss, delegates can also explore several other interesting attractions before and after the event. Kyoto’s top experiences include Kinkakuji Temple, Ryoanji Temple, Kifune Shrine, Fushimi Inari Shrine, Gion, Bamboo Grove, Geisha watching, bar-hopping and food tours, traditional festivals, etc.
Kyoto is well-connected with other major cities of Japan as well the world by air, rail, and road. There are three airports with easy connectivity to Kyoto. These are Osaka International Airport (closest to an airport and takes 50 minutes by bus), Kansai International Airport (90 minutes from Kyoto by express train), and Central Japan International Airport (less than 90 minutes by airport express). Buses and taxis are also available to tour in and around the city.
