Trivandrum

Trivandrum is the former name of Kerala’s capital Thiruvananthapuram, a city named after Vishnu, one of the deities of Hinduism. Located on India’s west cost, the city is known for its ancient temples, highlands of Western Ghats, internationally acclaimed beaches, backwater stretches and historic monuments. Besides, the city has won several accolades on various fronts. Times of India in 2012 named it the best city in Kerala to live in. The city was ranked fifteenth best city across India in 2013 to live in by India Today. Much to the delight of delegates, the city was declared as the best-governed city in India in 2017.

Kerala SRTC and private buses operate regularly to and from nearby cities of the state and that of other major cities in southern India such as Bengaluru and Chennai. Central Bus Station at Thampanoor situated opposite to the Trivandrum Central railway station serves as the main bus station for long distance buses.
